Visit the Sandhill Fall Festival on October 26-28 and help Harvest Hope with their mission to provide for struggling families in the Midlands. The Sandhill Research and Education Center (REC) is partnering with Harvest Hope for the first time and anyone donating at least three cans of food with their regular admission price will receive a Sandhill Buck good at several locations during the festival or a food coupon from Chick-fil-A.

The Sandhill Festival will be held at 900 Clemson Road from 6:00 until 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday and 3:00 until 8:30 pm on Sundays. Admission prices are $5 for ages 4-12 and anyone over 13 for $10. Children under 3 admitted for free and parking is free.

This year’s festival includes such great attractions as a hayride, pumpkin patch, a haunted forest, open Fridays and Saturdays, corn maze and a petting zoo on Sundays. For more information visit http://www.clemson.edu/public/rec/sandhill/

Mast General Store, Merrell Footwear, and Harvest Hope Food Bank are partnering to provide children in the Midlands area with weekend food, and you can help. For each pair of Merrell shoes purchased at Mast Store through October 31, Merrell will fill a pack a backpack with food to feed a child for a weekend. BackPack Weekend and SnackPack Weekend are designed to provide healthy, easily-prepared food to some of the most vulnerable children in our community, children who may be missing meals on a regular basis.

Harvest Hope continues to provide for struggling individuals and families across 20 SC counties, and last year distributed more than 28,383,000 pounds of food to help feed almost 2 million people in our state. To learn more about Harvest hope visit www.harvesthope.org.
