The Columbia community is invited to join Bethel A.M.E. Church at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, for A Cry of the City!, a Good Friday worship service dramatization of the Passion Story. Local personalities, the Bethel Music and Worship Arts Department and the entire church body will participate in this vivid and exciting dramatization of the events that transpired during the period that began with Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem and culminating with his burial.
In this experiential dramatization, there is no audience. Everyone is a participant. It is a unique opportunity for each person in attendance to become a true worshiper and experience the Passion Story in an up-close, intimate encounter.
The central cast includes local personalities such as Tony Jamison of WFMV 95.3, Jeffrey Lampkin of WACH FOX, Bishop Redfern II of CityLight, the Rev. Samuel Siebo of Bethel A.M.E. Church and the Rev. Timothy Cokley, pastor of Chapelle Memorial A.M.E. Church.
The public is invited. For more information, call the church at (803) 779-0138 or drop by at 819 Woodrow St., Columbia.
