Local Artists join for Music, Art and Coffee

Columbia, SC – Mo’ Betta Soul (MBS) is a performance concept with the idea of “music, art & coffee” where intimate shows are put together combining visual artists and performing artists. Creator Preach Jacobs is based out of Columbia, SC and the concept has gotten great attention. The idea of not going through conventional venues but instead have a DIY attitude to bring new music and art to the people.

The idea, simple as it may be, is a concept that they hope to take to other cities. While they aim to take the concept of MBS to cities outside of Columbia, they understand that funding is needed for travel expenses and artist compensation. They try to keep the shows free (when able to) and want to be able to spread this concept.

Jacobs is a musician/photographer/journalist and label CEO. His projects ‘Maple St. Sessions’, ‘Garveyism’ and ‘Rebel Radio’ has taken him to places like London and Japan to support the albums.

He currently runs Sounds Familiar Records, www.soundsfamiliarrecords.com and is head of music promotional entity Mo’ Betta Soul, www.mobettasoul.com.
